Livingston, Montana Clark City Press 2008 0944439640 First Edition Paperback New
Quarto (25.5 cm), pp. 311. Gray pictorial wraps. "Ed Lahey is widely acknowledged as one of Montana's finest poets in this or any other era. His collected poems, Birds of a Feather, was published by Clark City Press in 2005. For this book he dons another hat, that of a storyteller, and it fits him well. Although presented in the form of a novel, this might be said to also be a memoir, with events and characters altered as needed to make the tale flow. And flow it does, as we are shown a time and place most of us have read or heard about, but few have experienced. This fine narrative takes you right to the underbelly and outback of Butte, Montana in the 1930s which, at the time, was the West's only real city" (cover copy). First Edition.
