The Moon Cracks Open A Field Guide to Birds and Other Poems, Beaudin, Marc
1 Beaudin, Marc The Moon Cracks Open A Field Guide to Birds and Other Poems
Saginaw, Michigan Heal the Earth Press 2008 160458307X / 9781604583076 First edition Paperback New Signed
Octavo (21.5 cm), pp. 66. Brand new, signed by author on title page. "Beaudin delivers another fine collection of poems from the heartland. Like Roethke, the poems are rooted in the soil, sung from thickets and hooted in the night. Unlike Roethke, Beaudin reveals a nomad's soul with distant mountains tugging at his open heart. This book should best be read at the edge of a swamp or high on a wooded hillside. I haven't enjoyed such singing since Jim Harrison came west" -- Doug Peacock. First Edition.

Entwined: Three Lyric Sequences, Frost, Carol
16 Frost, Carol Entwined: Three Lyric Sequences
North Adams, MA Tupelo Press 8/1/2014 1936797496 / 9781936797493 Paperback Near fine Signed
Octavo (22.5 cm), pp. 122. First paperback edition. Signed and inscribed by author on title page: "For ---, in Livingston, MT." Light reading wear, else fine. "Carol Frost's poems possess a classical elegance, but something molten flows beneath these surfaces. The sequences in Entwined offer three enthralling perspectives on human awarness: searching for new sources of light among the bays and shoals of Florida's teeming gulf coast; crafting a lexicon of the imagination inside what the poet calls "moral dreaming"; and meditating upon fatality and memory, as a parent succumbs to dementia." Three Poems, Frost, Robert
17 Frost, Robert Three Poems
Hanover, NH Baker Library Press 1935 First Edition Paperback Good Signed
Quarto (25.5 cm), pp. [12]. Hand-tied pamphlet with blue paper wrappers, paper label. Signed with lengthy inscription (on verso of first leaf) by Frost to Robert S. Newdick, an Ohio State University professor of English literature (who was to have been Frost's biographer, but died before he could complete the work). No. 31 of 125, limited printing by the Daniel Oliver Associates of Dartmouth College. Includes three poems from Frost's early writing that had not previously been published in book form: "The Quest of the Orchis," "Warning," and "Caesar's Lost Transport Ships" (though all three had appeared in print previously in The Independent). Crane, A18. Front cover and back covers are detached from the rest of the pamphlet, and have dampstaining that does not affect the interior pages. Binding is intact but frail. Includes envelope addressed from Frost to Newdick in Frost's handwriting with cancelled three-cent stamps and the admonition to postal carriers: "Please do not fold." Envelope is in two pieces, has dampstaining and many chips and tears. Inscription reads: "Dear Mr. Newdick, This may interest you as an 'item' and a piece of writing if nothing else. The only poem in it I care for is The Quest of the Orchis, which might well have gone into A Boy's Will. Caesar's Lost Transport Ships was a high school piece. All three poems were published in the old Independent. [indecipherable] yours, Robert Frost April 16, 1935 Amherst Mass." First Edition.
