Octavo (22 cm), pp. 287. Red cloth with gilt titling. Decorative jacket with Navajo weaving motif, deckle edge, black publisher's ink on top edge of text block. Includes more than two dozen black and white photos. Front jacket flap is clipped (though price remains), chipped along top and bottom edges with a 1-1/4" piece missing at tail of spine. Anthropologist and 1926 Guggenheim fellow Reichard was a prominent scholar of Navajo culture, who lived with the Red-Point family of New Mexico in order to learn their stories and traditions. Dust jacket present. First Edition.
